Dropshipping Product Page Optimizations That Get a 320% Increase in Sales in Less Than 10 Minutes!
Like most new clients we work with, this particular dropshipper was having issues with a low customer conversion rate. After hopping on a call and completing a full investigation into the issues at hand, we quickly realized where the main issue lived.
They had a solid product. Their ad creatives were high quality. Their Facebook ad campaigns were doing a great job targeting the right market and getting customers to visit the website for cheap.
The main issues focused on the product page.
It was 11:32 pm when we hopped off the phone and got to work editing their product page. Ten minutes later we were done, and let the client know our work was complete for the night.
They didn’t believe we were finished, but we told them to let the ads run for 48 more hours before making a decision on the campaign.
We signed off for the night, only to wake up to a phone call at 2:32 am.
We initially thought we messed something up while editing the product page, so we warily answered the phone…
“OMG it worked! I had 3 sales over the past 50 minutes, thank you so much for your guidance. Sorry for waking you up but I’ve never made any sales before 6 am! Goodnight!”
And this pattern continued for the rest of the day, and now it’s an every day occurrence. She’s making money in her sleep most nights!
Prior to us editing the product page, she had made $175 in sales over the course of the last 3 days running ads to this product that she truly believed was a winner.
By spending just 10 minutes making simple adjustments to the product page, she made $560 in sales (a 320% increase in sales!)
She didn’t edit the campaigns. She didn’t increase her advertising budget. All she did was sit back and watch the sales come in after we got her page set up correctly.
Dropshipping product page optimizations are crucial when running a dropshipping business. You can have the best product in the world, the best marketing strategy, the highest budget… but if you’re product pages aren’t set up to sell then you’re just wasting you’re time.
So how did we do it?
The million dollar question… lucky for you we’re giving the blueprints to you!
There are five key elements that all successful product pages have in common:
- Creative Headlines
- High Quality Images, Videos, & GIFs
- Features + Benefits
- Clear Call to Action
- Social Proof
Her product page was missing 3 out of these 5 elements. A few simple adjustments that took us only 10 minutes to put into place changed her life.
Let’s take a look into each:
Creative Headlines
99% of clients don’t begin their product descriptions with a creative headline.
Why?
Probably because they don’t the power they contain.
The key to writing a powerful headline is to combine your customer’s emotions, fears, and desires with a simple solution.
For example, let’s say you’re selling a backyard canopy for the summer months. Your ideal customer owns a home and they like spending time outside, but want to avoid getting a sunburn.
A simple headline could be:
Protect Yourself From the Sun’s Harmful UV Rays in As Little As 5 Minutes Today!
Another example, say you’re selling a tool that sharpens dull drill bits. Your ideal customer is a handyman who uses their drills a lot and they’re tired of manually sharpening or buying new drill bits.
A quality headline might say:
Sharpen Your Dull Drill Bits In As Little As 30 Seconds!
or
Save Your Dull Drill Bits Quick and Easy with Our Electric Drill Bit Sharpener!
After an image and brief description of the product, you may add another headline before your features & benefits section that hits on another pain point like:
Stop Wasting Time and Money Going to the Hardware Store to Buy New Drill Bits!
Now you’ve piqued the customer’s interest and probably hit a nerve with them forcing them to continue reading.
The whole objective of a headline is to grab their attention and get them to keep reading. The longer a customer stays on your product page the more likely they are to make a purchase!

Onto the next key element…
High Quality Images, Videos, & GIFs
One of the biggest mistakes we see clients make is using poor quality images, and leaving out any sort of video or GIF on the product page.
Another mistake we see made is leaving logos or branded content inside the product images. This often confuses customers and turns them away.
The main image of your product should have a high resolution and a solid white background.
Ever notice how Amazon lists their products?
The ecom-giant demands that all of their sellers use photos with a white background for all of their main product images.
Don’t believe me? Go check their product listings for yourself.
Along with a high quality main image, we need high quality lifestyle images that show the product being used by people.
Having lifestyle images allows your photos to tell a story that connects your customers to your products. We want them to envision themselves living that lifestyle with your product.
We understand that when you’re product testing you may not have the product in hand yet and will have to rely on photos from the supplier. That’s ok. But as soon as you get the hint that this product has some potential, you should order a sample immediately and be prepared to shoot some images and videos of the product yourself.
Along with images, be sure to take advantage of videos and GIFs within your product page. Customer attention is captured much longer with these two options, and remember… the longer a customer stays on your store the more likely they are to buy.

Features and Benefits
Connecting your product features to your customer’s emotions, desires, and needs will be crucial to driving sales once customers land on your product page.
To write a high quality Features & Benefits section, you’ll first need to understand your ideal customer.
You want to ask yourself and have answers for these questions about how your product can help them:
- Save money
- Make money
- Save time
- Avoid effort
- Escape mental or physical pain
- Increase their popularity
Once you have answers for each of these questions (and we encourage you to have 3-5 for each) it becomes much easier to write high quality bullet points.
As Jim Edwards lays out in Copywriting Secrets, the ideal formula is as follows:
Feature + Benefit = Meaning
So how do we use this formula to craft superior features and benefits bullet points?
Let’s say you were selling that same drill bit sharpener from before:
UNIVERSAL SIZING – A variety of different size sharpeners allows you to sharpen dull drill bits of any size saving you time from going to the store to buy new ones!
STAINLESS STEEL DESIGN – High quality construction for strength and durability so you can sharpen your drill bits with ease which means you’ll spend a LOT less money on tools over time!
ELECTRICAL POWER – The 1350 RPM speed provided by the electrical connection makes quick work of sharpening dull drill bits so you can finish projects faster than ever before!
Notice how the main features are in bold and capitalized to draw attention, while the following sentences hit on the specific benefits and the meanings that come along with them.
If you do nothing else… if you stop reading right now and only focus on these three key elements we just discussed, I can guarantee you will see a sharp increase in sales.
Clear Call to Action
Don’t miss this last opportunity to drive customers who have gone through your full product page to make a purchase.
After you’ve gone through your features & benefits section and provided a few more high quality images/videos tell them to buy right now!
It doesn’t have to be that blatant.
All you need to say is “Get Yours Today!” or “Click the Buy Now Button Above to Order Yours Today”
We’ve split tested thousands and thousands of dollars worth of ad spend testing the differences between pages that have a clear call to action and those that don’t.
Put simply, having a clear call to action at the bottom of your product description will boost your sales.
P.S. Another quick tip is to add a money back guarantee or advertise your fast shipping times right above your call to action.
If you’re using AliExpress, don’t even try to advertise quick shipping times… you’ll just end up with angry customers who want refunds.
But if you make the switch to Zendrop, you’re in luck!
The best part… you can get started with a free Zendrop plan right now to help you boost sales immediately.
Social Proof
Are you more or less likely to make a purchase with a product that has 10 reviews, or no reviews?
Probably 10 right? As long as they’re positive.
Even if you only add a few reviews to your product page you will immediately boost your social proof.
But all reviews aren’t created equal… the best ones contain a nice description and product image (and these are typically hard to find).
Do your research. 99% of the time you’ll be able to find reviews somewhere for your product, whether it be on AliExpress, Amazon, eBay, Walmart, etc.
Two high quality photo review apps that we suggest are Areviews & Loox.

Dropshipping Product Page Optimizations
Like many of our clients, you can implement these simple dropshipping product page optimizations to boost sales quickly.
We don’t suggest only spending 10 minutes setting this up if it’s your first time. Give each section 30 minutes to an hour of your time. The more effort you put into these elements of your product page, the more sales you will generate.
