“Facebook Disabled My Ad Account, Again…”
Put simply, if you run ads on Facebook you will have your ad account disabled at one time or another.
That being said… you want to avoid it at all costs especially if it’s your first time running ads. Once your ad account gets disabled you won’t be able to create another one until it’s reactivated, unless you use on of these strategies.
If you already had your ad account disabled and can’t open another one, don’t worry. Email me at: bruce@ecomkong.com and I can send you an appeals script that has helped the vast majority of our clients get their advertising accounts back.
To avoid any future disabled ad accounts…
Major Key: Warming Up Your Ad Account
Too many dropshippers make the mistake of immediately jumping into their brand new ad accounts and launching a purchase conversion campaign… only to have Facebook disable their ad account.
Why does this happen?
Because Facebook doesn’t trust your ad account or business page enough yet to allow you to jump into driving traffic to your online store.
This doesn’t happen to everyone. From our experience it actually only happens to about 15% of new ad accounts but why take the chance?
If you’re playing the long game, you’re much better off seasoning your ad account and creating backups before you jump in and immediately begin trying to make sales.
Because guess what?
If you have your first ad account disabled Facebook won’t allow you to create another one. And if you can’t get it back, you’re pretty much screwed from running ads using your personal profile. Although there are workarounds like using a close friend or family member’s account, but let’s avoid that.
So, here’s the plan…
Launching Your Likes Campaign
Once you’re inside you’re Facebook Ads Manager select create campaign.
This page we’ll call the Campaign Level. You’ll see a range of options to choose from, select engagement.
As you scroll down, you’ll have the option to choose between Post Engagement, Page Likes, Event Responses, and Offer Claims. Select Page Likes and click continue.
Name your campaign “Page Likes” and click continue.
(Note: Be sure that CBOs are turned off)
This page we’ll call the Ad Set Level. Be sure to select the Facebook business page that you created for your store.
If you still haven’t done this yet, do it now. And for some guidance you can checkout this article.
As you scroll down you’ll see the Audience section. Don’t worry about custom audiences just yet, instead we’re going to add the list of countries that we plan to target for our store.
We suggest the Big Five: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
We suggest leaving the age and gender broad unless you know that you’re targeting a really specific niche with your products.
For detailed targeting add 3-5 interests related to the audience you want to target. If you’re selling fitness products enter things like Strength Training, Workout, CrossFit, etc.
Always turn off detailed targeting, and you don’t have to edit the languages section since we’re only targeting the Big 5 English speaking countries.
You can also leave the default information under Connections the way it is.
Moving onto placements, for a page likes campaign we suggest leaving it with Automatic Placements.
For the budget we suggest starting at $5/day and letting it run for 5-7 days. We’ll be spending at least $25 on this campaign to get it seasoned and build credibility with Facebook.
You’ll receive you’re first bill at the $25 threshold, and if the payment method goes smoothly they’ll likely immediately bump you up to $35. The following payment thresholds are $50, $75, and $100.
As you build credibility with Facebook, they’ll allow you to spend more money each day so it’s important to start with this engagement campaign.
Click continue…
Now we’re at the Ad Level. On this page we’ll be creating our ad to show users on Facebook.
Double-check that you selected the correct Facebook Business Page (if you only created one then you don’t have to worry about it).
If you don’t like the pre-selected image you can click Edit Image and change the ad image to whatever you like.
For the primary text, keep it simple. We wrote “Fitness fans come hangout” (adding an emoji is a good idea).
Side Note: Be sure your profile picture for the business page matches the logo for your store. Congruency is key!
Next, you’ll select the pixel that you added to your store and click confirm. If you haven’t already added your Facebook pixel yet you can read these articles to learn how to create and add it to your Shopify store.

Good work! You’ve successfully launched your first campaign taking the first steps towards growing your online business!
Plan to let the campaign run for five days or spend at least $25. Use this time to work on creating a high converting store.
Here’s is a quick checklist of things you can do to improve your store:
- High Converting Product Pages
- Generate Quality Sales Copy
- Install and Optimize Apps
- Launch an Email Marketing Campaign
- Sign Up for Zendrop
Post 1-2 Times Per Day
Be sure to stay active on your Facebook business page! I can’t stress this enough…
Too often dropshippers get lazy. They create a page but never post any content to it, and Facebook doesn’t like this.
You’ll be much less likely to have your ad account banned if you post regularly.
Don’t over-complicate it, plan on posting 1-2 times per day. You can use Canva to create images, quotes, etc. to create your posts. Then pick a time during the week to sit down and schedule your posts for the week. It should take no longer than 30 minutes.
Don’t get lazy!
Once you’ve spent $25 on your likes campaign, create a back up ad account!
Create Backup Ad Accounts
As long as the ad accounts in your business manager are in good standing, you will be able to create up to 5 ad accounts. To create a new ad account inside your business manager..
First, Click Business Settings
Second, Click Ad Accounts on the Left Panel
Third, Click the + Add Button and Choose Create New Ad Account
Now fill out the information for your new ad account then submit it. Congratulations, you now have a backup ad account to use in case your first one gets disabled. Don’t let Mr. Zuck stop you from making money!
It’s a good idea to repeat this process over and over until they won’t let you create any more ad accounts inside your business manager.
For added protection against a disabled ad account you can create an entirely new Facebook Business Manager and repeat this whole process again in this new business manager.
Facebook Big Ban
The absolute worst case scenario… Facebook deletes your personal Facebook account because they felt you went too far violating their advertising policies.
Yes, this happens.
Instead of hearing “Facebook disabled my ad account…”
We hear, “HOLY SHIT where’d my Facebook go?!”
This happens to very very few people, I mean like less than 0.5% of people who run ads on Facebook.
If this happens or you want to keep your business completely separate from your personal Facebook account, checkout these two websites:
Both websites allow you to purchase seasoned Facebook ad accounts and walk you through the process of getting verified to running ads. The cost is usually around $100.
Avoid a Deactivated Facebook Ad Account
By following these steps you’ll be much less likely to have your ad account disabled. And worst case scenario you can use a family member’s account, or buy a new account from the websites listed above.
Again, if you have an ad account that’s currently disabled send me a message at:

I’ll be happy to share with you several ad appeal scripts that we use to consistently win those appeals and get our clients’ ad accounts back from the depths of Facebook.
