Affiliate Marketing Value Ladder
If you’re really looking to be successful with affiliate marketing, or really any form of online business, understanding the importance of a value ladder is key. Relationships with potential customers takes time to build.
99.9% of customers don’t trust you from the start. They simply aren’t ready to put their trust in you or your product and hand over their hard-earned cash.
Copywriting skills are a great tool to help bridge the gap between skeptic consumers and happy customers, but most people haven’t fully developed these skills yet. So how else can we build the bridge to help our customers help themselves by purchasing our products or service?
Offering a High Value Content Offer that’s so irresistible they immediately pull out their credit cards and sign up.

Welcome to the Affiliate Marketing Value Ladder!
How Does the Value Ladder Work?
It’s all about building trust with your customers through high quality sales copy, offering them an irresistible high value content offer, and getting them in the door and primed for your next level offers.
What do we mean by getting them in the door with a high value content offer?
Offering your customer something that provides a ton of value for them by helping them solve a problem they experience for a very low price. For example, for someone who is new to dropshipping you can create a mini course or PDF that shows them how to set up a Shopify store correctly for only $1. Anyone who has had trouble doing it on their own will very likely jump on the offer since it contains so much value for such a small price.
Now you’ve gained their trust since you helped them build a dropshipping store for just $1. They probably spent days upon days trying to figure out what was wrong with their store and you helped them solve their issues. They now view you as a niche leader and have put their trust in you to provide them awesome value allowing them to reach their hopes and dreams.
Since you collected their email from the start, it’s time to start following up with your new customers a few days after they’ve had the chance to build their dropshipping stores using your course. In these next emails you will be offering even higher value content for a higher price while climbing the value ladder.
You can offer them a Facebook Ad course for $49. Then you could offer them membership into your agency for a fee of $299/month. Next you could offer them 1 on 1 student mentorship for $1,000/month. The list could go on and on, but notice how we’re climbing the value ladder. Depending on your customer’s decisions to choose any of the upsells should guide your email sequence. If someone doesn’t pick up any of the lower end upsells, it’s probably not a good idea to offer the most expensive upsell just yet. They’ll need a little more priming, so it’s a good idea to send them articles that are related to dropshipping that can help them out.
Affiliate Marketing Value Ladder
As we have begun to pivot more towards affiliate marketing in recent weeks, we have quickly learned that choosing offers with a quality value ladder and back-end is key to making money. You want to choose offers that have a quality front-end offer for a reasonable price and also have a solid email sequence with multiple upsells in the back-end.
Unlike dropshipping, the whole purpose of affiliate marketing advertising is to get people through those cheaper front-end offers and begin the process of walking them through the value ladder. The purpose of a Facebook ad campaign isn’t to be profitable from the start, the goal is actually to be right around break-even. If you can achieve a break-even campaign, the rest is gravy!
Unlike dropshipping, you don’t need to worry about product costs, AliExpress suppliers, long shipping times, angry customers, and much more. With affiliate marketing, once you break-even with your marketing spend everything else is straight profit and completely hands off! Once you get people into the value ladder you just let the company do the work and make commissions on each upsell.
For these reasons and a few more, we’ve been making the transition away from dropshipping and towards affiliate marketing in recent weeks.
