Ok, so you’ve finally started making a few sales with your dropshipping business in 2020. You’ve cashed in on your hard work and are seeing the results as profit begins flowing in. Then one day you log into AliExpress to fulfill an order and you receive an error message asking for payment verification. Your heart starts racing. You do some research online and read some scary, outdated articles about the AliExpress payment appeal process. You become overwhelmed with the process and feel like you are completely lost…
This was my first experience dealing with verification and the AliExpress payment appeals process. I remember being on the team bus on our way to a game while fulfilling orders and receiving this notification. But perseverance is key to any successful business. I did a ton of research in the hotel after the game and learned how to successfully appeal my declined payment to keep my dropshipping business alive.
Why did AliExpress deny my credit cards and deactivate my account?
They do it to be sure the payments aren’t fraudulent. I learned that my account became flagged because I was fulfilling orders using the same credit card with different IP addresses since I was travelling across the country playing. Your account can also become flagged if use a VPN or change your account details often. And sometimes it’s out of your control.
How do I successfully appeal and verify my account?
Select the link to “appeal for account activation.” OR, from your AliExpress account scroll to the bottom of the page and under the “Help” tab select “Disputes & Reports.”
Next, you’ll choose to appeal a dispute and you’ll be prompted to enter in the following information:
- Valid Id
- Credit Card used that matches your Id
- Bank Statements that show you’ve made purchases using this card on AliExpress
Don’t worry! You can cover up vital information such as your ID number and the CVV code on your credit card. I simply used a piece of paper to cover this information, took photos using my phone, and attached all the necessary documentation to my appeal. I also wrote a couple short paragraphs about what happened and politely asked them to reactivate my account.
How long does the AliExpress payment appeal process take?
My account was reactivated within 24 hours. I was surprised because many of the articles that I read stated the process can take up to 3 weeks. If your process takes longer than 24 hours, which it most likely will, don’t panic! You can choose to locate a different supplier to fulfill your orders from eBay, DH Gate, Walmart, or apps like Spocket or Zendrop.
If you’re dropshipping using AliExpress in 2020 you’re almost guaranteed to run into this problem at some point during your ecommerce journey. When it happens, you have the solutions to win your appeal!
If by some chance your appeal is denied, try again. In the meantime, switch over to Zendrop or Spocket to completely avoid the hassles of dropshipping from AliExpress. I’m currently making the switch to Zendrop as they have great relationships with suppliers and offer guaranteed shipping times for all their products.
